I've taught this course since the fall semester of 2005. The course is integrated into the Newslink Indiana convergence immersion experience in the Department of Telecommunications.
The goal of the class is to help students develop better online writing and editing skills. The course also seeks to expose students to the latest trends in online news and multimedia.

TCOM 350 DVD Design
Fall 2007 is the first time I've taught this course, which focuses on DVD menu design. The class is challenging because the students have a wide range of abilities. While some are ready to rock with DVDStudioPro, others barely know Adobe Photoshop.
I focus on aesthetics and usability during the first part of the semester. The second part of the semester is spent learning software and producing projects.
