Pineapple farm
The Big Pineapple is a
working pineapple farm.
It takes two years to
grow a pine.
Rolling hills help drain
water away from the roots so they do not rot.
The farm has a
collection of all sorts of fruits from around the
world.
This field is plowed and
ready to be planted. Pines are planted by hand. There
are two generations for pineapples, the first one
bears larger fruit. The second one is plowed under
and used for fertilizer.
A demonstration of how
pines are planted and harvested.
The farm had a zoo with
sleeping koalas.
What's a hopping?
See, roo, this is what
we in America call a White Castle...
Stephen feeds the
roo.
This is a
kookaburro.
I'm sure the wallabie is
saying "My gosh! Look at the pouch on that
thing."
Stephen and a wallaby
share some lunch.

Farm.
Excitement. Adventure. A
koala craves not these things.
This cocaktoo was keen
to go home with me.
Another kookaboro.
I fed an angora
goat.
A jackass with a
jackass.
Hey goat, want something
to eat?
Whoa! That goat is
getting a little too friendly.
Looking toward the
restaurant and the gift shop.
Inside the Big Pineapple
are model displays telling how pineapples are sent to
market and canned. The top is an observation
tower.
It's this big!
No, this big!
The fields ... er
paddocks.

Stephen holds a
Macadamia nut in his hand. They are hard to
crack.
A macadami nut parfait
at the Big Pineapple. It was yummy. Macadami nuts,
macadamia nut ice cream, whipped cream and caramel
sauce.
