Davis Down Under

Morning is exercise time for the people of Lennox Head. Many were out walking their dogs. One group had nine Scottish terriers. The path back to the cabin, which is about 20 feet, leads through vegetation and brush. Pine trees and bottle-brush plants provide a wind barrier against the sea. The area is filled with birds feasting on the nectar from the bottle-brush plants. Most of them are lorikeets, a colorful small type of parrot.

A sea eagle would occasionally startle them, and they would flee further inland. The eagle was building a nest in one of the taller trees.
